About Us

In 2018 and as a result of Tesla’s five-year Nevada education investment commitment, Nevada Robotics was born at the Desert Research Institute (DRI).  The vision was for all schools in Nevada to have competitive robotics teams, and to give all students the opportunity to be creative and problem-solve through hands-on robotics education and experiences.

Later, Nevada Gold Mines signed on as a partner and continues its support today.

Nevada Robotics works in collaboration with Nevada’s higher education systems, school districts, robotics education programs, industry and community partners to create engaging computer science and engineering opportunities for all students across the state.  We are increasing equity and access to technology education. This collective state-wide effort is designed to engage students early so that they are both confident and inspired to pursue careers in CS-STEM fields. Generous grants and gifts from businesses such as Nevada Gold Mines allow Nevada Robotics to continue its work and to expand its reach.

Our Approach

child making surprised face next to robots

Our mission is to train all Nevada PreK – 5 educators how to use robots as learning tools to teach computer science, ELA, and math.

Our vision is a Nevada education system where all students have early and equal access to engaging and quality computer science instruction to build a foundation for their success in STEM classes, majors, and jobs.

Thank you to our founding partners!
